680 Folsom has been LEED® certified to the Platinum level, as established by the U.S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). The project achieved LEED certification for energy savings, efficient water use, lighting and material use, and incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies.
680 Folsom in San Francisco has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects California Council (AIACC). The building, dramatically renovated by SOM, received a 2014 Merit Award for Architecture through the AIACC's Design Awards Program, which honors excellence in architecture and design.
SOM's renovation of 680 Folsom in San Francisco has won a Silver Award in Building Design + Construction's 2014 Reconstruction Awards. Judges commended SOM for its "creative seismic solution and thoughtful recladding," and hailed 680 Folsom as "one of the hottest office spaces in one of San Francisco’s coolest neighborhoods."
