Public Safety Answering Center II won a 2017 NYCxDesign Award in the Governmental/Institutional category. The awards program, presented by Interior Design magazine in collaboration with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), honors outstanding products and projects chosen by a panel of 30 design luminaries. The 2017 award ceremony was held at the Museum of Modern Art on Saturday, May 20th as part of the annual kickoff event marking the start of ICFF.
Prominently located along the Hutchinson River Parkway and Pelham Parkway in the Bronx, Public Safety Answering Center II (PSAC II) augments New York's existing 911 services and strengthens the city’s ability to maintain communication in the event of a natural disaster or large-scale emergency. PSAC II is designed to operate continually under adverse conditions and provide redundancy to the city’s primary emergency call center.
