On November 14th, 2019, Associate Director Phil Obayda will present “High-Rise Residential and the Typology’s Ten Year Challenge” at the Tall Buildings Conference. The event, organized by Architecture Today magazine, will take place at The Building Centre. Speakers will explore how tall buildings present particular challenges to architects, planners, and developers. Additionally, they will discuss strategies for constructing buildings that are safe, financially viable, aesthetically pleasing, focused on occupants’ wellbeing, and have a low impact on the environment.
In his presentation, Obayda will focus on the recent shifts in the residential sector and the challenges they present to designing high-rise residential projects like The Stratford (formerly Manhattan Loft Gardens) and Nine Elms. He will also share insight on designing projects to meet net zero carbon goals by 2030.
