On Thursday, December 10th, Peter J. Kindel, SOM Director of Urban Design and Planning, will deliver a keynote at CityAge: Hong Kong, a one-day conference that examines investment models, new partnerships, and the design tools and ideas that are shaping the building of future cities.
CityAge: Hong Kong builds on prior CityAge editions in cities around the world to aggregate global expertise in the business and design practice of city building for the future. In his presentation, titled “Core Commitments in the Age of Urbanism,” Kindel will talk about two key endeavors of the SOM City Design Practice—building enriched, equitable, and sustainable urban environments, and engaging ecological conservation and restoration—both of which have high relevance for the development of Asian cities. Using examples of SOM's work, Kindel will illustrate how all those concerned with the construction of cities can advance these core concerns.
