Nicholas Holt to Present at Center for Architecture

On June 1, 2015, SOM Technical Director Nicholas Holt will join a discussion about air leakage in buildings at the Center for Architecture in New York City. “Seal in Tight, Make Right” will explore how building envelopes can be designed to mitigate air infiltration and how, in turn, airtight buildings can save energy costs, minimize corrosion and moisture migration, and promote healthy interior environments.

The speakers will examine series of commercial and institutional case studies, including SOM’s P.S. 62 Net Zero School on Staten Island, New York. A blower door, the machine used to measure the airtightness of buildings, will also be a part of the presentation.
