Nathan Strieter Joins Moynihan Train Hall Panel Discussion

On Wednesday, January 10th, SOM Senior Designer Nathan Strieter took part in a panel discussion on Moynihan Train Hall. When completed, the train hall will expand Penn Station by creating additional space for Long Island Railroad and Amtrak passengers. Strieter was joined by Michael Evans of the Moynihan Station Development Corporation, David Bellman of Vornado, Bruno Signorelli of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and John Sullivan of Skanska.

SOM has played a leading role in the adaptive reuse project, which will transform the James A. Farley Post Office Building into a 21st-century train hall. The project is on pace for a 2020 completion. Its first phase, which included the construction of an underground commuter concourse, was finished in 2017. The second phase, which will transform the post office into a sky-lit public space with office and retail space, is underway.
