Marla Gayle Speaks at Transportation Forum

On Friday, November 3rd, SOM Associate Director Marla Gayle spoke at the Professional Women in Construction’s Transportation Forum. On the Moynihan Train Hall panel, Gayle and other speakers discussed the transformation of the James A. Farley Post Office into a state-of-the-art transportation facility.

Located across Eighth Avenue from Pennsylvania Station, the new Moynihan Train Hall will be a critical part of the redevelopment of the entire Penn Station complex and will add much-need capacity to the region’s rail system. The first phase of the project, the new West End Concourse, opened in June 2017, and the Moynihan Train Hall is anticipated to open in 2020.

Joining Gayle on the panel were: Dave Bellman of Vornado; Michael Campana of Skanska; Kelly Eustice of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Michael Evans of the Moynihan Station Development Corporation; and Maxine Hill of WSP. Chelsea LeMar, Executive Director of Professional Women in Construction, moderated the panel. Amy Beckman of HOK introduced the panel.

Prior to the Moynihan Train Hall panel, a presentation on the Gateway Program took place.
