Mark Schwettmann Participates in Virtual SPUR Panel

On Thursday, March 26th, Design Director Mark Schwettmann participated in “Taking Mixed-Use to the Next Level,” a webinar focused on the challenges and opportunities created by transit-oriented developments (TODs) in San Francisco. The online discussion was hosted by SPUR.

The increasing popularity of TODs in the city has led to a surge of proposals for dense, mixed-use developments near public facilities. Schwettmann and other participants discuss the trend through an analysis of projects at Potrero Yard, 1550 Mission/49 South Van Ness, 98 Franklin, and 530 Sansome.

Schwettmann was joined by Melinda Bihn, Head of School at the French American International School of San Francisco; Sarah Bernstein Jones, Planning Director at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency; Amit Price Patel, Principal at SITELAB Urban Studio; John Updike, Senior Project Manager at the San Francisco Department of Real Estate; and Matthew Witte, Principal at Related California.
