On Wednesday, November 16th, SOM Director of Sustainable Engineering Luke Leung will speak at the La Crosse, Wisconsin Chapter of ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. In a presentation titled "21st Century Tall Building Design," Leung will shed light on SOM's approach to designing sustainable towers. He will describe his work on the Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, currently the world's tallest man-made structure.
Leung plays an active role with ASHRAE, serving as a Distinguished Lecturer with ASHRAE Illinois, as Chairman of the ASHRAE Committee on Tall Buildings, and as a member of the editorial team for ASHRAE handbooks on tall buildings. Leung also advises the organization on the advancement of key policies, having served on its Steering Committee for Building Performance.
