Luke Leung to Speak at ASHRAE Montreal Chapter

Luke Leung, SOM Director of Sustainable Engineering, will speak at the Montreal Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) on September 12th. Titled “Burj Khalifa: Engineering the World’s Tallest Building – the Future of Cities?” Leung’s presentation will shed light on SOM’s design process for the tower and its role in shaping the future of urban design in cities around the world.

Leung plays an active role with ASHRAE, serving as a Distinguished Lecturer with ASHRAE Illinois, as Chairman of the ASHRAE Committee on Tall Buildings, and as a member of the editorial team for ASHRAE handbooks on tall buildings. Leung also advises the organization on the advancement of key policies, having served on the ASHRAE Steering Committee for Building Performance.
