Luke Leung, SOM Director of Sustainable Engineering, will deliver the keynote presentation at the 2017 Spring Conference of the Illinois Chapter of The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). In his presentation, titled "Live Long, Healthy, and Low Energy," Leung will explore correlations between the built environment and quality of life for urban residents. The presentation will complement the main themes of the conference: energy, technology, and examples of successful engineering projects.
Leung plays an active role with ASHRAE, serving as a Distinguished Lecturer with ASHRAE Illinois, as Chairman of the ASHRAE Committee on Tall Buildings, and as a member of the editorial team for ASHRAE handbooks on tall buildings. Leung also advises the organization on the advancement of key policies, having served on its Steering Committee for Building Performance.
