On Thursday, February 1st, Luke Leung will participate in a panel discussion titled "Greening Tall: Naturalizing the Vertical Realm." The event is part of the Building Tall Skyscraper Lecture Series organized by the Chicago Architecture Foundation and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
Panelists will explore the benefits and challenges of incorporating emerging sustainability features in tall and supertall structures, focusing on green roofs and full-height planted walls. Joining Leung on the panel will be: Sara Beardsley, Senior Architect at Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture; Jean-Marie Joassin, Project Architect at Perkins + Will; Molly Meyer, CEO and Founder of Omni Ecosystems; and Yibo Xu, Senior Architect at Stefano Boeri Architetti. Reed Kroloff, Partner at jones/kroloff, will moderate the panel.
As Director of SOM's Sustainable Engineering and MEP studio, Leung plays a key role in the advancement of sustainable strategies at SOM. His projects include the Burj Khalifa, Beijing Finance Street, and the Zhengzhou Greenland Tower.
