Luke Leung, SOM’s Director of Sustainable Engineering, will participate in a roundtable discussion hosted by Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) College of Architecture on Saturday, October 3. The event is part of a series of roundtables celebrating the opening of the Chicago Architecture Biennial, which opens to the public that day. The discussion will center on the question, "Is Chicago still the Silicon Valley of tall building expertise and export?"
The roundtable will be moderated by Michelangelo Sabatino, Professor and Director of the PhD Program at the IIT College of Architecture. Leung’s fellow panelists include Hanif Kara, Co-Founder and Director at AKT II, and Professor in Practice of Architectural Technology at the Harvard Graduate School of Design; Thomas Leslie, Pickard Chilton Professor of Architecture at Iowa State University; Martino Stierli, Chief Curator of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art; and Antony Wood, Associate Professor at the IIT College of Architecture, and Executive Director of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
