On Wednesday, May 25th, SOM Managing Partner Kenneth A. Lewis will join a panel with author Judith Dupré to discuss her new book, One World Trade Center: Biography of the Building. The event will take place at the main branch of the New York Public Library, as part of the Architectural Explorations in Books Series.
Released on April 26, 2016, Dupré's definitive book chronicles the political, economic, structural and technological, artistic, and civic angles of the tower's design and construction. It incorporates over 70 interviews with the people most closely involved in the project and presents a rich visual chronicle of the building, with more than 250 photographs.
Also joining Dupré and Lewis in the panel discussion will be Patrick J. Foye, Executive Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Ahmad Rahimian, USA Director of Building Structures for WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff; and Carla Swickerath, CEO of Studio Libeskind.
