On Monday, April 1st, Urban Design Practice Leader Keith P. O'Connor will speak at Ball State University as a part of its College of Architecture and Planning Lecture series.
In a lecture titled "Shaping the Public Realm: Urban Regeneration in NYC, Chicago and Hong Kong," O'Connor will discuss how cities are reshaping the public realm through public investment in New York, institutional commitment in Chicago, and private initiatives in Hong Kong. O'Connor will approach the topic through the lens of his work in New York City following September 11th; the transformation of the Chicago Navy Pier; and the remaking of the TST waterfront in Hong Kong. He will share insight on how each city approaches redevelopment, as well as the commonalities among the three projects.
