On Wednesday, March 7th, SOM Associate Director Julia Murphy will receive the Tribune Award at the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation’s Leadership Awards Gala. The award is presented to young professionals who exhibit leadership and participation in improving gender equity in the building industry.
The foundation strives to document the history of women in architecture and to promote gender equality in today’s workplace. In addition to Murphy, the following practitioners will receive awards at the 2018 Gala: Iris Weinshall, Chief Operating Officer at the New York Public Library; Jill N. Lerner, Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates; Michele O’Connor, Principal at Langan; Karen Fairbanks, Partner at Marble Fairbanks Architects; Eugenie C. Havemeyer, President of Metropolis Magazine; and Susan Szenasy, Director of Design Innovation at Metropolis Magazine.
