Jin Mao Tower’s Performance Recognized by CTBUH

SOM’s Jin Mao Tower has been named a Performance Award Finalist by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). The 420-meter-high Jin Mao Tower was China’s tallest building at the time of its completion and today remains its most iconic.

In a statement, CTBUH notes that the building has “actively maintained key performance indicators since it opened in 1999, and operates a strategy of continuous improvement, integrating monthly energy-consumption analysis meetings with computerized monitoring.”

The project will be formally recognized at the CTBUH 12th Annual Awards Symposium on November 6, 2014.
