The 2015 Spark Awards recognized four SOM projects, including The Strand, American Conservatory Theater – Environmental Graphics and the New United States Courthouse – Los Angeles, which took top honors in their respective categories. The international awards program, now in its ninth year, reflects Spark's mission to encourage, support, and publicize innovative, transformative designs that help our world and society.
SOM's environmental graphics for San Francisco’s newest nonprofit theater venue earned the highest award in the Communication competition, and the design for Los Angeles' new federal courthouse won the highest award in the Space competition. The Moscone Center Expansion and Improvement project received a silver award, and Shenzhen CITIC Financial Center received a bronze award, both in the Space competition. Spark winners are published in the Spark Annual E-Yearbook, exhibited internationally, and archived in permanent online galleries.
