The American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) International Region has honored Guoco Tower with a commendation in urban design in its 2019 Design Awards program. Each year, the program recognizes projects for achieving a wide range of criteria, including design quality and both technical and social advancement.
Guoco Tower, a mixed-use development at the epicenter of Singapore’s historic central business district, comprises two towers and a central public park at its base. At the heart of this space is the “City Room,” a canopied public art and outdoor performance area that connects to all programs within the site, including an underground pedestrian network with retail and an existing Mass Rapid Transit station.
