Elementary School Students Tour SOM's New York Office and Learn About One World Trade Center

On July 19th, first- and second-grade students from The Neighborhood School in Manhattan visited SOM's New York office for a tour and a presentation about One World Trade Center. On display in the office was the students' own model of the building, which they created through an educational program with the Center for Architecture. During the office visit, SOM architect Anastasia Shimchick gave a presentation on One World Trade Center, and SOM Managing Partner Kenneth A. Lewis spoke to the students about their interest in the tower and the field of architecture.

The One World Trade Center model was created as part of Learning By Design:NY, a classroom residency program introduces Kindergarten–12th grade students to architecture and design through hands-on workshops.
