Design-led Placemaking

Designed and engineered by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP (SOM), the building envelope is a high-performance system that mitigates heat gain, yet allows ample influx of natural light. The facade was designed through an intense engagement, value engineered from tender documentation, up to contractor’s shop drawings, rigorously evaluated using both a full scale visual as well as stringent performance mock-up tests.

“Together with Godrej, we wanted to create a timeless building that embodied the DNA of Godrej and set a new benchmark for the BKC commercial market. The systematic collaboarative design-led project fuelled us to create a building that would directly connect the users with nature, provide appropriate daylight while also creating a welcoming and engaging environment for anyone who passes by,” explains Peter Lefkovits, Associate Director, SOM.
