On October 10, SOM Associate Director Colin Koop will participate in a panel on technology and academia. The discussion, which is taking place as part of Dwell on Design NY, will explore how traditional classrooms can continue to engage a generation of digitally minded students.
Koop has extensive experience designing flexible academic environments that support scientific innovation, cooperative learning, and individual well-being. He served as the Senior Design Architect for the recently completed University Center at The New School and he is currently the Senior Design Architect for the Cornell NYC Tech Framework Plan on Roosevelt Island.
Lia Gartner, Vice President for Design, Construction and Facilities Management at The New School, and Todd Schliemann of Ennead Architects will join Koop in conversation.
Dwell on Design NY is a design conference curated by the editors of Dwell magazine. The three-day event, which runs from October 9-11, will feature discussions and installations on numerous themes, including urbanism, public space, and architectural preservation.
