On April 28, 2015, SOM Associate Director Colin Koop will serve as a panelist at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Washington Real Estate Trends Conference in Washington, D.C. Koop will participate in the conversation “Creative Collisions: Defining Innovation District Demand,” which will explore the rising popularity of districts designed both to foster invention and support idea exchange between institutions and businesses.
At the event, Koop will share insights from his experience as the Senior Design Architect for the Cornell Tech campus. Currently taking shape on New York City’s Roosevelt Island, this campus will house academic and corporate co-location buildings, residences, a conference center, and a central utility plant upon project completion in 2017.
Now in its 17th year, ULI Washington Real Estate Trends Conference brings together architects, planners, developers, economists, and other leaders for a series of talks and panel discussions on issues and trends driving the real estate industry locally and nationwide. The theme for this year’s conference is “Common Ground: Building Partners, Projects and Potential.”
