Four SOM projects have been named finalists in this year’s Architizer A+ Awards. Selected from thousands of submissions, the finalists will now be considered for a Jury Award, determined by a panel of over 400 esteemed judges, and a Popular Choice Award, based on public voting. Voting is open on Architizer’s website through March 30th, 2017.
The four SOM finalists are: Public Safety Answering Center II in the Government & Municipal Buildings category; 350 Mission in the Architecture+ Engineering category; Chicago Public Library, Chinatown Branch in the Libraries category; and Poly International Plaza in the Office – High Rise category.
Additionally, two SOM projects received special mentions: the U.S. Air Force – Center for Character and Leadership Development in the Higher Education & Research Facilities category, and the Elgin Laundry Building in the Unbuilt Sports & Recreation category.
Now in its fifth year, the Architizer A+ Awards program recognizes outstanding architecture in more than 100 distinct categories. Architizer A+ Jury winners and Popular Choice winners will be announced on April 11th, 2017.
