Four SOM projects have been named finalists in this year’s Architizer A+ Awards. Selected from thousands of submissions, the SOM projects will now be considered for a Jury Award, determined by a panel of esteemed judges, and a Popular Choice Award, based on popular votes. The public voting period will remain open on Architizer’s website through April 3, 2015.
The four SOM finalists are: China Merchants Tower & Woods Park and One World Trade Center in the Commercial Office - High Rise Category, Kingtown International Center (formerly Jinao Tower) in the Mixed Use Category, and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Terminal 2 in the Airports Category. The Mumbai airport is also a finalist in the Architecture + Engineering category, which recognizes exceptional collaborations between architects and engineers. A separate Jury Award and a Popular Choice Award will be given in each category. SOM’s Central Barangaroo planning project in Sydney, Australia, was also recognized with a Special Mention in this year’s awards program.
Now in its third year, the Architizer A+ Awards recognize outstanding l architecture in more than 90 distinct categories. Architizer A+ Jury winners and Popular Choice winners will be announced on April 14, 2015, and recognized at a formal gala on May 14, 2015.
