On Thursday, October 1, SOM Design Partner Brian Lee will participate in a panel discussion that reflects on the biggest challenges in urban design that Chicago and the Midwest face in the coming years. Called International Perspectives on Chicago and the Future of Urban Change, the panel is presented by the Art Institute of Chicago, the Architecture & Design Society, Van Alen Institute, and the Chicago Architecture Biennial, which opens to the public on Saturday, October 3 and runs till January 3, 2016.
Moderated by Zoë Ryan (Art Institute of Chicago), Kai-Uwe Bergmann (BIG Architects), and David van der Leer (Van Alen Institute), the conversation brings together a diverse, international group of architects, planners, academics, and city officials to provide local and global perspectives on the past, present, and future of Chicago architecture and planning.
