On Thursday, December 14th, SOM Associate Director Brian Kaplan will deliver a presentation titled "Advocating for the Future of Building Technology" as part of AIA NY's "Sustainable Design Perspectives." The event explores the impact of healthier buildings and materials, as well the challenges and benefits of designing for occupant health.
In his presentation, Kaplan will focus on the various obstacles of reducing potable water use and identifying new resource streams. He will also discuss SOM's 2030 Commitment and New York City's Energy and Water Use Report, evaluating how the city's large buildings contribute to carbon emissions.
Speakers joining Kaplan include Stephen Jones of Dodge Data & Analytics, Apoorv Goyal of HOK Architects, and Simon Whelan of FenestraPro.
