SOM Design Director Michael Duncan will help lead a tour of The Strand for registered attendees of this year’s Urban Land Institute Fall Meeting, which is being held on October 5-8, 2015, in San Francisco. Joined by representatives from American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) and Equity Community Builders, Duncan will describe how the renovation project resurrected an abandoned century-old cinema to serve as an intimate second stage for A.C.T.’s full-staged theater productions, an education center, and a community gathering space. The Strand is the final stop of a walking tour along Market Street, which will show three properties that represent the most creative reuse of historic buildings for high tech office and cultural uses.
