On Wednesday, February 21st, SOM Associate Director Arathi Gowda will speak at a panel discussion titled, "City of Chicago: Pushing the Envelope." The event centers on the city's participation in the Paris Climate Agreement, which targets a reduction in carbon emissions by 26 to 28 percent by 2025. The panel will explore the city's sustainability goals, the current Chicago Sustainable Development Policy, and how building professionals can help the city meet its target by 2025.
Gowda will be joined on the panel by Amy Jewel from the Office of the Mayor of Chicago; Michael Berkshire of the Chicago Department of Planning and Development; and representatives from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2030 Commitment, the AIA Committee on the Environment, and Passive House Alliance Chicago.
