St. Albans School Marriott Hall
In 2006, with its centennial approaching, St. Albans School for boys embarked upon its first new construction project in nearly 30 years. The institution proposed a 30,000-square-foot renovation and 25,000-square-foot expansion to provide a student center, classrooms, and faculty offices.
The school, which had developed slowly over the years and did not follow a master plan, also hoped to create a cohesive linkage between four existing buildings. It also wanted a building that emphasized sustainable principles to be representative of the school's commitment to teaching students to be responsible citizens. This brochure features SOM's innovative solution for the esteemed private school.
