SOM was commissioned by the United States Embassy in Ottawa to design an office building that would consolidate several departments and tenant agencies into one location. Located in Ottawa’s government center, the design responds to the architectural character of its context. With its punched windows and articulated stone and glass façades, the Embassy is a unique combination of traditional and modern architecture.
