Treasure Island Master Plan Boat Tour

Also Featuring the East Span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge

Director Carrie Byles co-leads the tour of Treasure Island and San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge with Caltrans Engineer, Brian Maroney.

SOM led the design of a complex and thoroughly-articulated urban design and architectural plan for Treasure Island, and was supported by a multidisciplinary team of Bay Area architects, engineers, landscape architects and geologists. The plan establishes relationships between buildings, public open space, transportation, views, and natural forces. The master plan creates a compact, transit-oriented community with a commitment to sustainability unparalleled in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In addition, the tour includes the East Span of the 1930s San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, which is being replaced with a striking new interpretation of a suspension bridge.
