Ron Johnson, Structural Engineering Associate Director at SOM Chicago, will present a case study on The Broadgate Tower, London, as part of a conference entitled "Engineering Tall Buildings: From concept to completion—delivering iconic structures."

Mr. Johnson’s talk will provide insight into some of the challenges inherent in designing tall buildings, with particular focus on:

  • Achieving constructability—the technical challenges of building high-rise structures in Central London
  • Installing services and the façade
  • The benefits of utilizing steel cores
  • Delivering tall buildings on time and on budget
