Roger Kallman

AIA, Consulting Partner

Roger Kallman is the consulting partner for urban design and planning at SOM London, as well as for planning issues relating to architectural projects. Mr. Kallman joined SOM in 1971, was elected an Associate in 1973, an Associate Partner in 1980, and a Partner in 1989. He moved to England in 1986 to help establish SOM’s London office. His work encompasses land planning, urban design, transportation planning, new town and campus planning, feasibility studies, environmental assessments, historic preservation, and adaptive re-use studies.

Mr. Kallman’s design principles have evolved over the years, prompted by his deep concern for the urban environment in all its aspects, including architecture, infrastructure, and public realm. In his work, both on new developments and on urban regeneration, he believes in the seamless integration of town planning and urban design. Mr. Kallman is able to draw upon a vast range of international experience in Europe, America, the Middle East, and Asia to achieve culturally appropriate planning and design solutions.
