Designed by James Carpenter Design Associates Inc. and artfully engineered by SOM, the Schubert Club Band Shell utilizes a system of pipes and rods configured as a tensioned lattice, which serves as an economical means of support for an elegantly minimalist 25’ x 50’ saddle-shaped roof.

Engineering studies revealed how the structural system enabled the use of inexpensive, flat, frosted glass panes that diffuse light during the day and glow with warm welcome at night.
