Philips Centre
Amsterdam, Netherlands
The design for the Philips Centre reflects the core SOM principle that functional requirements of a design, if frankly expressed, can create meaningful form. The 23-story office building, located in a new, outlying business district on the banks of Amsterdam’s Amstel River, can thus be viewed as a tribute to the Inland Steel and other 20th century SOM office buildings.
