Jaime Velez IIDA, ASID, Principal |
Jaime Velez is a principal in charge of the Interiors Group in the Chicago office of SOM. Mr. Velez has participated in a large number of architectural and interiors projects in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. His role in the design process provides insight for identification of opportunities in the feasibility phases of a project. He implements and guides the design strategy and then coordinates and develops the concepts with the architectural and engineering disciplines and consultants.
Mr. Velez brings to his interiors projects a strong architectural background, which, in conjunction with his knowledge of furniture and detailing, generates integral designs with a high degree of consistency from the whole to the pieces. He believes that a space should reflect the unique characteristics of the culture of its users. Building on the strong interiors tradition at SOM, his projects possess a timeless quality and a strong sense of order and clarity.
