Taking its lead from the One Planet Living 10 guiding principles, SOM’s scheme proposes an engaging and healthy sustainable community for Dublin. A simple structure of urban blocks and streets is scaled to accommodate a range of residential buildings, offices and public spaces within a grid layout, which bends and deforms to become more ‘organic’ as the project merges with the park to the south. As a historical reference, opportunities to use recycled glass and locally sourced Irish granite are included throughout the project for external building facades, street furniture, water features and public art.
