Conclusion

Both UNC and SOM approached the project in an interdisciplinary manner, reflecting the University's interdisciplinary approach to education and SOM's interdisciplinary approach to design.

The project also speaks to SOM’s design philosophy: By addressing more than just the program that was given and examining that program, the setting, the surrounding ecosystems—SOM collectively assembled the parts to create a greater and sustainable whole. The result? Truly integrated design for a sustainable future.
