SOM’s plan for this high-density mixed-use development in Central London focuses on improving the permeability of the area and addressing the current lack of useable local open space. The scheme acknowledges the history of the site and creates a dynamic place where public and private realms coincide. The design re-introduces the historic wedge-shaped blocks that previously inhabited the site, transforming them into an innovative 3-dimensional environment and providing a common urban grain to unite the unique character of each individual building component.
