SOM’s challenge in master planning Heron Quay on the Isle of Dogs was to create an exciting, strong identity for the development and a strong visual and symbolic connection with Canary Wharf. SOM developed uniquely powerful infrastructural elements that form Heron Quay’s design vocabulary and at the same time relate to the hugely successful Canary Wharf development.
